In April 2019, we conducted a public opinion survey on climate action in Kingston which had more than 1,000 respondents. We're very excited to release the final report on our KIngston Attitudes on Climate Change survey.

So What's Next?

Now the work begins ...

The climate emergency has been declared and now our collective work begins.

What do we want a climate emergency to mean for Kingston? What kind of action are we looking for? What kind (and how much) investment in green tech or other solutions do we want?

We have to stay involved and be sure that our elected officials hear our voices.

There are so many ways to get involved ...

  1. Sign up to become part of the city's engagement network and provide your input to city plan and projects. Learn More
  2. Write or call your councillor to express your support of strong climate goals for Kingston. Click Here for a link to their contact info.
  3. Write to all of council (your correspondence will become part of the agenda of the next council meeting) to urge serious climate action in line with the UN's new targets (at a minimum). Send your email to lsargeant@cityofkingston.ca
  4. Support climate action by helping us to to do more of what we do by contributing to our fundraising campaign. Learn More

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead.

Citizens cannot rely on government alone to solve critically challenging issues. That’s why we’ve formed the Kingston Climate Hub: to provide non-partisan information on climate change, to engage with our community to take control of climate change in our own backyards, and to monitor government and industry actions and outcomes.
